Fear is an innate, built in safety mechanism that our brains need to stay safe. The presence of fear in our lives is essential. It stops us from doing really stupid, reckless things.
The fear that triggers in our brains doesn't actually have any interest in your fulfilment. It's only purpose is to keep you safe. It has no interest in creativity, in desire, in expression or freedom.
Basically - our brains don’t know how to handle the fear instinct other than shutting it down so we have to TEACH it how to respond to fear when it comes to our deepest desires.
HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS:
We can do that! We can teach our brains to work with fear in a way that helps us to flourish!
Just because we can't banish fear (because we still need it in so many circumstances) doesn't mean we have to let it master us.
