Fresh Finds Friday

Fresh Finds Friday Mel Wiggins BlogHappy Friday pals! I am so ready for the long weekend.  Next week the work starts on our bathroom so if you happen to see us three over the next week or so, we will likely look like dirty hobos.  Be warned.  This is the first major thing we have done to our house since it became ours in September so I'm excited about all the details I've agonised over and waited around for to come together.  Check out my bathroom inspiration post here.

Anyway - some fun finds and links to slide you into the weekend...

+  My friends Gemma & Dan have just started the sweetest hand-lettering business, beautifully & creatively putting your favourite quotes and sayings onto paper.  It's such a great gift-giving idea!  Check out Brown Paper Packages to order and keep an eye out on their Insta (@brownpaperpackagesni) for some beautiful hand-lettering goodness!

+  Do you listen to podcasts?  I'm late to the party, I know - but since I got hooked on Serial (GO, LISTEN, NOW! So compelling), podcasts are my jam.  Lately I've been LOVING this one by former 'This American Life' host Hillary Frank:  It's called 'The Longest Shortest Time' and it is a breath of fresh air for parents. Isn't that podcast name the whole truth?!  I totally get it.  Parenting is the longest shortest time for REAL. Anyway, it covers all kinds of parenthood topics with a real dollop of authenticity and humour.  I particularly liked this one.

+  I stumbled across this sweet kids brand the other day called Rovi Kids.  I immediately loved the vibe behind the brand:  "With technology, TV and video games replacing time that used to be spent outside, we wanted to help create a new lifestyle brand that returns the kids to the outdoors, once again. More importantly, our goal is to help instill these values at the earliest age possible so that it becomes habitual later on throughout their lives."  Great ethos, right?  Check out these tees:

+  Pinch punch first of the month!  Can you believe it's the 1st of May?  Was it not just Christmas?  The girls over at Seeds & Stitches made the most gorgeous watercolour May Day posies.  Really easy and such a lovely idea to give to neighbours and friends.

+  *SPOILER ALERT* - If you're a Grey's Anatomy fan and you aren't up to date with the latest drama, look away now, I mean it.  This interview with McDreamy is all kinds of awkward.  I get the feeling all did not end well with him in Shondaland.

+  Finally, for all you locals - the annual Apple Blossom Fair is on in Loughall Country Park on Monday from 10:30am - 6pm!  There are going to be orchard tours, food & craft stalls, music, children's activities & cooking demonstrations from local producers!  Sounds like a great way to spend the bank holiday eh?

Like a supportive wife, I'm going with my boys to watch Portadown FC in the cup final tomorrow.  Dave is like a little boy about it - he's even won the chance to take penalties on the pitch at halftime which is hilarious!  The outside of our house is covered in red & white bunting and a 20 foot Polish flag from eBay red and white flag has been draped down the front.   Thankfully some of the neighbours in our row have joined in and we're not the only house that has strangers stopping to take pictures.

Have a brilliant weekend folks!
